As an interim replacement, Antonio Pierce has been appointed as the new head coach. Conversely, O'Connell, a fourth-round rookie, is poised to make his NFL debut as a starting quarterback. With limited appearances this season, he has one touchdown pass and two interceptions, completing 34 of 52 pass attempts.
